Since MCP does not cover all healthcare services, many residents use private insurance to supplement their coverage. Private insurance is particularly useful for:

- Physiotherapy and Chiropractic Care: These services are not covered by MCP but are often included in private insurance plans.
- Travel Insurance: Newcomers may also want to consider private health insurance to cover any medical needs during the initial waiting period before MCP coverage starts.
