Cost of living in Newfoundland and Labrador is generally lower than in many other Canadian provinces, making it an attractive destination for those seeking a more affordable lifestyle. While housing, food, utilities, and education costs can vary depending on location and lifestyle choices, you can expect to enjoy a reasonable standard of living here.   • Housing:
    • Rent for room is at least $500  and one-bedroom apartment in St. John's averages around $1,250 per month, while a three-bedroom house in suburban areas costs approximately $2,000 per month.
    • Homeownership averages range between $250,000 and $500,000 for purchase prices.
  • Food:
    • Weekly groceries for a family of four average around $250.
    • Dining out costs about $30 per person at mid-range restaurants.
  • Utilities:
    • Monthly utility costs, including electricity and  oil heating,average around $200.
    • Internet and cable TV typically add $70 each.
  • Education:
    • Public schooling is free, but parents have to cover the cost of extracurricular activities. Private school tuition averages around $10,000 per year.
    • Memorial University offers affordable tuition (~$4800/year for International students)  compared to other Canadian universities with tuition/year
