What is Covered Under MCP?

A list of general categories of medical services covered under MCP include:
- visits to a physician’s office, hospital or beneficiary’s residence
- surgical, diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, including anesthesia
- pre and post-operative care
- complete maternity care
- radiology interpretive services
- certain surgical-dental procedures which are medically necessary to be performed in the hospital by a dentist or oral surgeon
There may be a 3-month waiting period before coverage starts, so consider using temporary private insurance during this time.
