What is NOT Covered Under MCP?

Some of the services that are not covered under MCP include:
- Drugs and vaccines
- Medical appliances and prescriptions
- Specialist for non-referred patients
- Ambulance services or other transportation
- Acupuncture and subsequent related services
- Non-medically necessary examinations
- Surgery for cosmetic purposes
- Eye examinations for corrective lenses
- Routine dental extractions
- Services provided by chiropractors, optometrists, podiatrists, naturopaths, osteopaths, physiotherapists, nurses or other paramedical personnel
- In-vitro fertilization and ovarian stimulation and sperm transfer
- Fees for Immigration Medical Exams required by IRCC
Please note that assistance may be provided to eligible people under various programs as described on the government Health & Community Services website. You can also contact the MCP in your area to inquire whether a healthcare service or treatment is covered.
