María, Connection with the Community and Volunteering
Participating in Collective Interchange has been one of the best decisions I’ve made since moving to this province. The organization provided me with valuable tools to support my job search and ease my transition. But more importantly, it introduced me to incredible people who made me feel part of the community — in fact, I met my closest friends here. Now that I’ve been in the province longer, I volunteer with this amazing organization to help others have the same enriching experience.
Patricia, Connection
I’m writing these lines to recognize and thank Collective Interchange for the incredible work they do. On a personal level, I’m deeply grateful to have found them as a newcomer to this beautiful province. I was introduced to the organization by people who were attending some of their workshops and invited me to join. That’s how I began building a network of connections, support, and resources that helped me navigate the challenges I was facing.
Margarita, Connection with Community and Employment
Collective Interchange is an organization that has helped me build meaningful connections through activities, courses, and focus groups. It has given me the opportunity to share my perspectives and gain a deeper understanding of the challenges Latino immigrants face upon arriving in this country. I’ve also learned about the various non-profit organizations that support our community. I truly appreciate the team’s genuine commitment to empowering and supporting the Latino community.
Karina, Community Connection
In August 2022, we moved to St. John’s at the request of my husband’s company. It was a significant change, as—like many in the community—we arrived without any family or friends here. About a month after settling in, someone introduced me to the Latino community and encouraged me to join the group. That was, without a doubt, one of the best decisions I could have made. I was warmly welcomed by people who are always willing to help and offer support whenever it’s needed.

Since then, I’ve been invited to participate in various events and workshops, which I attend whenever I can. This group has been instrumental in helping me meet wonderful people and feel confident knowing I can count on them if I ever need assistance. I’m truly grateful for the support I’ve received in such a short time, and I sincerely hope the community continues to grow and thrive.
