1. Important Terms


These terms include important provisions affecting your rights:

2. Your Permission to Use the Platform

  • Granted by Collective Interchange: You are granted permission to use the platform, subject to these terms.
  • Agreement Required: Use of the platform is conditional on accepting these terms.

3. Conditions for Use


Your permission to use the platform is subject to the following:

  1. You must be at least 13 years old.
  2. Collective Interchange may revoke your access if deemed necessary.
  3. You must comply with the rules in Acceptable Use and Content Standards.

4. Acceptable Use


You agree not to:

  • Break the law or infringe on others' rights.
  • Submit unauthorized or harmful content (e.g., viruses, malware).
  • Overload the platform with excessive requests.
  • Impersonate others or misrepresent affiliations.


5. Content Standards

  • Is illegal, abusive, or harmful: Refers to any content or behavior that violates local, provincial, or federal laws; promotes or involves abuse, harassment, threats, violence, or physical or emotional harm to individuals or groups; or seeks to exploit, deceive, or cause harm to others, including minors.
  • Violates intellectual property or privacy laws: Refers to the posting, distribution, or unauthorized use of content protected by copyright, trademarks, patents, trade secrets, or other intellectual property rights, as well as the unauthorized disclosure or misuse of personal or private information protected under privacy laws.

  • Contains confidential information without proper authorization: Refers to the posting, distribution, or unauthorized use of content protected by copyright, trademarks, patents, trade secrets, or other intellectual property rights, as well as the unauthorized disclosure or misuse of personal or private information protected under privacy laws.

6. Community Contribution and Inclusion


The Newcomer Navigator NL platform is a collaborative resource.

  • We invite faith groups, community organizations, and service providers to share their information with us.
  • All contributions must comply with our platform guidelines and content standards.
  • By encouraging broad participation, we ensure the platform reflects the rich diversity of Newfoundland and Labrador.

7. Enforcement


Collective Interchange reserves the right to:

  • Investigate and act on violations.
  • Remove inappropriate content.
  • Restrict or revoke platform access for breaches of these terms.

8. Your Account

  • Account Security: You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. We encourage you to follow good security practices, such as using strong passwords and logging out after each session, to help protect your information and ensure a safe experience for all users.
  • Account Termination: We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate our platform guidelines or content standards. Our goal is to maintain a respectful, inclusive, and secure environment for all users.

9. Your Content

  • Ownership: You retain full ownership of any content you submit to the platform.
  • License: By submitting content, you grant Collective Interchange a non-exclusive license to use, publish, and analyze your content as necessary for the operation and improvement of the platform.
  • Removal: If you remove your content, the license granted to us will end once any backups or cached versions are also deleted from our systems.

10. Your Responsibility


You agree to:

  • Indemnify Collective Interchange for any legal claims related to your misuse of the platform.
  • Cooperate in resolving such claims and allow Collective Interchange to manage defense efforts.

12. Feedback

  • Feedback submitted becomes the property of Collective Interchange.
  • No compensation is provided for suggestions.

13. Termination

  • Either party may terminate this agreement at any time.
  • Upon termination, your access to the platform ends immediately.

14. Disputes

  • Governed by the laws of Newfoundland and Labrador.
  • Arbitration will occur in St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador, unless specified otherwise.

15. General Terms

  • Unenforceable provisions will be modified or removed while preserving intent.
  • You may not assign your agreement; Collective Interchange may assign as necessary.
