The Ukrainian National Federation – Avalon Chapter (UNF-Avalon) is a non-profit cultural and community organization dedicated to supporting Ukrainians living in the Avalon region of Newfoundland and Labrador. As part of the national UNF network, this chapter plays a vital role in welcoming and assisting newcomers from Ukraine and fostering cultural pride through community engagement.
UNF-Avalon creates a welcoming environment for individuals and families to connect, celebrate Ukrainian culture, and receive practical support during their settlement journey. The organization is led by a dedicated group of volunteers and community leaders who organize regular programs, cultural events, and outreach activities that benefit both newcomers and long-standing residents.

Settlement Support for Ukrainian Newcomers
Guidance on accessing local services, finding housing, healthcare, and navigating immigration resources. -
Community Welcome and Orientation Events
Regular gatherings to help newcomers connect with local Ukrainian community members and support systems. -
Cultural and Heritage Events
Celebrations of Ukrainian holidays, food, music, and traditions open to the wider public to promote cultural awareness. -
Ukrainian Language and Cultural Education
Informal classes and workshops to support language preservation and cultural learning for children and adults. -
Youth and Family Activities
Social gatherings, family-friendly events, and community picnics to help Ukrainian youth and families build strong relationships. -
Partnerships and Advocacy
Collaborations with local organizations and government to advocate for Ukrainian newcomers and promote inclusive policies.
UNF-Avalon continues to grow as a trusted and inclusive space for Ukrainians in Newfoundland and Labrador, helping to build a stronger, more connected community.
